Best live concert ever attended: I haven’t attended any major concerts but I did enjoy watching the Crows headline Sunday night at Sandwich Folk and Ale Festival 2024.
Equipment used: I have custom made bass, a Goodfellow, an SD Curlee and a Fender Precision. Trick Fish USA handmade amp and cab.
Past bands and musical ventures: Phantom Power were a teenage rock blues trio. We released a few original and cover songs on cd. Show highlights was when we played at the Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone and Faversham Hop Festival. Then I played in After Dark which were a 5-piece jazz-blues cover band which played vintage but less well-known classics. The Randoms were a 5-piece band playing a wide selection of classic songs from Chuck Berry to the Blues Brothers and Bill Haley. We played locally including Sandwich Folk and Ale Festival.
What made you join the Crow wagon: I joined The Old Country Crows after a recommendation from their keyboard player, Bryan Orwell whom I played with in After Dark. We both enjoy the chemistry between our playing so much and we played in several other projects together also. I listened to the material released by the Crows and I found it immediately catchy. It is not my usual genre but i decided I would love to contribute to this group.
Your visions, ambitions and expectations for The Old Country Crows: I look forward to performing back out on the road with the Crows this time and i am hoping to be involved in the recording of the next album when the band return to the studio.
Your favourite moment as a Crow: Getting the call from Gary offering me the bass player position in the Crows!
The Crow song you wake up in the middle of the night singing: Get a Vest On!
