Crows to swoop in on Faversham Hop Festival 2024...

The Crows are looking forward to returning to Faversham Hop Festival for the second consecutive year with a scheduled appearance on the Market Place Stage on Sunday 1st September 2024.
One of Kent's best-loved festivals it was originally conceived in 1990 by Gordon Newton, one of the acknowledged founders of the Sweeps festival in Rochester who wanted to do something similar in Faversham. Within a few years, Faversham Town Council took over running it, and then as it grew Swale Borough Council looked after it. Now it is run by volunteers from the very community it grew from. Originally, it looked to the history of a hopping celebration as it would have been. It developed to provide entertainment relevant to a visiting hopping family as it would be today. Now it’s striking a balance as an internationally renowned local festival which will continue to develop that balance, and hope that visitors continue to enjoy it year after year.
A special treat for followers of the Crows will be the presence of Joe Himbury on bass guitar and Brandon Virtue on drums. They are stepping into the breach to lend a hand and at the same time they will bring the average age of the band down by around 20 years per Crow! It is the youngest ever line-up of the band to take to the stage so can they expect screaming down at the front? Joe made a debut appearance on bass with the Crows in July 2024 and Brandon has played with the band on several occasions.
Showtime is 1.50 - 2.35pm on Sunday 1st September 2024 on the Market Place Stage.
The main car park is at the Abbey School on the A2 (SatNavs to ME13 8RZ). The car park will be attended by marshals to help ensure security, and is just £5 per day per car (9am – 9pm) & £10 per day for a minibus. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk in the town or there will be a shuttle service in operation. Alternatively, Faversham can be reached by train with the station conveniently located near the hub of the town.
The band look forward to seeing y'all on the invisible highway in Faversham on Sunday 1st September 2024 for a good old slice of folk and roll!!
